How many times have you tried dieting and failed? The problem with all diets is the will power of the person attempting to lose weight. A new diet works for a while, you lose a little weight and then indecisiveness kicks in and you go off your diet, Immediately your weight begins to increase again. Is there a solution to losing weight and keeping it off?
The answer is very simple. All you need to do is take in fewer calories than your body needs to burn up each day. Your calories can be hard to keep track of though. In a recent study to count the calorie intake of a group of volunteers it was proved that over 60% of those people recorded less than half of the calories ingested. So what is the solution to this problem?
Firstly take a look at what you eat each day - be honest with yourself here. How often do you eat a fast food meal or snack in a week? How about snacks between meals or sweets, chocolates and high sugar content foods for example? In the average week how many cans of coke do you consume? If you answer one or more to any of these questions then you have a great place to start.
Yes it's true that changing the way you eat can help with weight loss. Cut out fast foods, sugary drinks and snacks and instead eat fresh fruit or vegetables in their place. Little and often is a good axiom so try to eat five to six smaller meals each day rather than the traditional three large meals. You will find that eating little and often increases your metabolism, which will help you burn off more calories.
Try changing to reduced calorie or no calorie drinks or if possible drink water. Drinking water will help your body function as it should by flushing out toxins and in turn help you to burn off more calories. Drinking water will also help you save money compared with buying cans of fizzy drinks. If your tap water isn't the best quality then simply buy a water filter or mineral water. Wherever possible try to use a reusable bottle for your water.
When you make small changes you are more likely to stick with them so simply making these basic changes can help you to lose weight. Add a couple of exercise sessions or a good walk two or three times a week and you'll have your body back to your ideal weight before you know it.
